At Together Tallahassee we work to empower and uplift the communities around us by providing support and encouragement through acts of service. Our goal is to connect volunteers to our surrounding community by providing a multitude of volunteer opportunities each month. We offer in person service events, donation drives, and various letter writing projects that aim to leave a positive impact on the lives of individuals around us, fostering a sense of togetherness.
WHAT WE DO
With two main focuses, Together Tallahassee has a project for everyone. Our primary goal has always been reducing feelings of isolation and seclusion in community groups that are often overlooked. Beginning in April of 2021 we’ve had student volunteers send personalized letters to nursing home residents; with over 3,000 letters delivered we’ve now expanded to form pen-pals between the 2 generations, and even offer in-person events where you can spend time at the nursing home playing games and simply talking with your residents.
In addition to our letter writing projects, each month we direct our support to one specific group; collecting donations that correlate to their livelihood and having volunteers send in letters of compassion. Contributing wherever possible, we aim to support the teams that are often under-appreciated.
Volunteers are always welcome, no matter your volunteer availability or location, as we all work- Together.
